Puerto Rico vs. Armada postponed until July 12th

Mother Nature would not be denied as the Puerto Rico FC vs. Armada FC soccer match was postponed until July 12th after days of heavy rain made the field at UNF unplayable.

The two teams will play two games in four days next month. The Armada will travel to Puerto Rico on July 8th before the two teams come back to Jacksonville.

Fans who purchased tickets for the game originally scheduled to be played Sunday will be able to use them for the July 12th game.

Gators win game one in CWS Finals

Brady Singer struck out a career-high 12 in seven innings, Jonathan India doubled in two runs, and Florida beat LSU 4-3 in Game 1 of the College World Series finals Monday night.

The Gators (51-19) need a win Tuesday or Wednesday to earn their first national championship in baseball.

Singer's strikeout total was highest by a single pitcher in a CWS finals game. Singer (9-5) limited LSU (52-19) to three singles before Antoine Duplantis homered in the sixth. He left after Greg Deichmann doubled leading off the eighth.

Scott, Louisiana governor ante up for World Series

Key lime pie is on the line as the Florida Gators take on the Louisiana State University Tigers in the College World Series finals.

In what has become an all-SEC showdown, Gov. Rick Scott tweeted Monday that he has made a friendly wager with his Louisiana counterpart, Gov. John Bel Edwards.

"If @GatorsBB wins, @LouisianaGov owes me some delicious Louisiana boudin sausage," Scott tweeted. "In the unlikely event @LSUbaseball wins, I'll send @LouisianaGov some delicious@KermitsKeyWest Key Lime pie. Go Gators!"

Countdown to Training Camp: Myles Jack

After spending most of his rookie season as the odd man out the Jacksonville Jaguars made a big commitment to Myles Jack this offseason by naming him their starting middle linebacker. It wasn't Jack's fault that he didn't make a serious impact as a rookie.

The strong-side linebacker (Otto) position is an afterthought in Gus Bradley's defense. Making things even harder on Jack is that Paul Posluszny and Telvin Smith had solid years at the other two linebacker positions. Posluszny and Smith were also the Jaguars linebackers in their nickel package.

Harvick gets first win of the year at Sonoma

Kevin Harvick returned to victory lane for the first time this season with a dominating run Sunday on the road course at Sonoma Raceway.

The former NASCAR champion came to Sonoma winless in 20 races since Kansas last fall and has been overshadowed in this season of NASCAR's young new superstars. But at a track where experience and ability can separate the field, it was Harvick and a bunch of veterans who led the way.
